Dean McCurry (Texas Auctioneer License #16260) has been a full-time charitable auctioneer for 15 years. His journey began when he was asked to step in as a substitute Bingo caller for his kids’ school. Impressed by his skills, he was later asked to be the auctioneer for a gala event and the rest is history. After retiring from Western Digital in 2009, Dean made auctioneering his full-time passion.
With over 500 charity events under his belt, Dean has raised over $40 million for various organizations supporting veterans, homeless individuals, senior citizens, schools, churches, animals, victims of crimes, abuse, disaster, special needs, and more. His enthusiasm and humor make him stand out in North Texas charity circles, where he knows how to energize a room and bring smiles to faces.
Dean is happily married to his wife, Gail, for 42 years and together they have three children and seven grandchildren. When asked why he focuses on charity auctions, Dean emphasizes the personal involvement and positive impact he sees in the community. He finds joy in bringing smiles to the faces of those in need, reinforcing his dedication to charitable work.
